Amazonās new facility in Paducah promises jobs and growthābut at what cost? Just as Amazon ramps up, news has surfaced that FedEx plans to close a Paducah facility in 2025. Is it a coincidence, or a sign of whatās to come? While Amazon expands by cutting costs and paying lower wages, the high-paying union jobs at companies like UPS that weāve relied on may be slipping away. Many of Amazonās best roles will go to relocated staff, leaving locals with entry-level positions. Is this really a win for Paducah, or are we trading quality jobs for quick numbers?

The Agenda
Paducah Water Project to Temporarily Close South 28th Street Intersection
Starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, Paducah Water will close the intersection of South 28th Street at South 24th Street and Marquess Drive to install a new water main as part of the South 24th Street Water Main Replacement Project. This closure is expected to last until the afternoon of Thursday, November 7.
Local residents will still have access, but all other traffic will need to use alternate routes.
